Field Notes
In the Wild:
Sujan Creative’s site wanted their site redesigned to reflect a natural evolution of the studio’s work. As their focus shifted toward photography and videography, the challenge for the website needed to showcase a wide range of visually rich projects in a way that felt refined, intentional, and inviting to explore.
Observation:
Sujan Creative’s portfolio is rich in motion, color, and media variety.
The primary design challenge was organizing a wide range of visual work in a way that felt intentional rather than crowded, while preserving the energy and personality of the brand.
Adaptations
Design adaptations focused on:
- using film-strip-inspired graphic elements as a visual motif to reference photography and videography
- incorporating motion through hover and rollover interactions to bring energy to the layout
- using bold color selectively to create visual interest without clutter
- establishing repeatable layout patterns to ensure a large volume of work feels cohesive, not crowded
Ecosystem Evolution
This project represents a complete redesign of Sujan Creative’s original site, also built by Bolhuis Design.
The metamorphosis reflects a deliberate shift toward a more mature, editorial presentation — retaining the brand’s vibrancy while introducing greater structure and restraint.
As Sujan Creative’s focus has increasingly centered on photography and videography, the site has adapted to foreground motion-based work and high-impact visuals while maintaining a consistent system for organizing and presenting a growing portfolio.
