Field Notes
In the Wild:
Range of Motion Chiropractic is a well-established practice whose website has already gone through various iterations over time.
This redesign marked a clear shift: from functional and familiar to clean, modern, and quietly sophisticated — all without losing patient trust.
Observation:
The existing site no longer reflected:
- the practice’s established nature
- the professionalism of the brand
- how patients actually navigated and absorbed information
Adaptations
I redesigned the site to balance sophistication with warmth, while preserving the practice’s established visual identity:
- introduced motion through video to reinforce the idea of physical movement
- refined typography and spacing to improve clarity and reduce visual noise
These additions modernized the user experience was modernized without disrupting existing trust or familiarity.
Ecosystem Evolution
The site was rebuilt to support long-term use without frequent redesigns. Key decisions included:
- modular layouts that allow content to evolve without structural changes
- service and information pages designed to guide the visitor’s eye through dense material
- flexible team sections that support staffing changes
I edited and assembled the video montage to reinforce the design’s rhythm and sense of motion, while reflecting the range of lifestyles served by the practice.
Several areas were intentionally built as flexible systems rather than fixed layouts:
- services pages structured to keep the eye moving while conveying dense information
- government and informational pages using alternating visual rhythm to prevent reader fatigue
- team sections designed for easy additions and removals
Notes on Integrations
ROMC’s nonprofit initiative was integrated as a distinct section of the site, visually aligned with the main practice while remaining clearly independent.
Third-party vendors added additional tools — including a membership portal and chatbot. I assisted with integration as needed, while these systems operate independently of the core site architecture.
